$15 #Giveaway - A naughty DM gets #spanked by a Dom from her past in my @DecadentPub #BDSM #Romance

I'm ignoring a personal taboo today by posting about my new book prior to the official release date (which is in 2 daysl!!). For some reason, I've always had a mental block about pre-release promo. Until all the buy links are actually live, it feels as if there's a chance the darn thing might never come out at all. This is definitely an extreme case of author jitters, but starving artists are meant to be eccentric.

One of the reasons I'm taking this leap is because, for once, I have pre-order links. Also, due to technical, Rafflecopter-design reasons, I really need this post to exist before I send my media kit far and wide. As is custom with all my new releases, I've got a $15 Gift Card up for grabs (so don't forget to scroll all the way to the end.). There are multiple entry options to suit all types of social media preferences.

So, I probably should tell you a bit more about the book (one would think I've got this promo-thing down by now). First off, Submissive on the Run has my most risque cover to date, although Warlock's Pawn comes in at a very close second. I'm a tad worried the Amazon overseers might banish this title to the dregs of adult-only filters, but Fiona Jayde did such an awesome job I decided to take my chances. To be fair, this book is likely my kinkiest title to date (feel free to chime in if you disagree). A club-set, interracial BDSM romance, it falls pretty neatly into the "glitterkink" category (we're talking spanking, bondage, and capture games, among other activities). I hope I've made this super clear in the blurb and cover, and if that's not your cup of tea, I totally get it (you can still enter the giveaway!). If the idea intrigues you, however, please read on.  (I've got an orgasm for you in the excerpt. I'm serious.)

Submissive on the Run

A 1Night Stand Story

by Tara Quan

Obscene wealth and a toxic family taught Joss Bradlee to care about no one. He moved through life in a caustic shell, fending off gold-diggers with his sharp tongue and abrasive personality. But a stubborn submissive saw past his nonchalant act, and he fell hard and fast for a girl he didn’t deserve. When she accidentally stumbled into the line of fire, he moved heaven and earth to protect her, even if it meant letting her go. Ten months later, he ensures her safety and tracks her down, finally ready to claim the one person that matters. The only problem—she wants nothing to do with him.

On the run for close to a year, Kim Tran receives a surprise call from the man who’d put her life in danger. His family hired assassins to kill her, but he’s somehow convinced they still had a chance. With their entire relationship built on a lie, she resists the instinct to sprint straight into his arms. Faced with a social divide no sane person would bridge, she cuts her losses and breaks her own heart. But the Dominant she loves has other plans, and he’s spent his entire life getting his way. Too late to run and with nowhere to hide, she faces an adversary well versed in all her weaknesses.

At the Carnivore Club, two exhibitionists meet for a battle of wills, lured by a one-night stand service, misplaced cat, and several helping hands. With the aid of handcuffs, disciplinary measures, and a capture game, a reluctant sub rediscovers the pleasures of bondage, the thrill of display, and the ecstasy of surrender.

Excerpt (R-Rated, Mature Audiences Only, Sexual Content Ahead, Don't Sue Me, etc.)

Thrilled and terrified, she swallowed the lump in her throat. “We could get over each other if we tried.”

Imprisoning her with his arms, he trailed his nose down the line of her neck. “How’s that working out for you? On my end, every hot chick I see has your face. One look at your reflection, and bam—instant hard on. Our breather flopped.” He dipped his head lower, scattering kisses along her collarbones. “I’m glad it’s done.”

“No.” Her vision misted with pulses of crimson. She tried to summon an iota of reluctance. Her libido refused to play ball. “We’re not doing this again.”

He bit the sensitive spot between her shoulder and neck. “You don’t have a choice. I’m calling the shots.”

His confidence curled her toes. “What we had was less than a fling.” She poured what little willpower she had into the false words.

He squeezed her breast, the proprietary caress arching her back. “You’re going to pay for that lie with a lot more than a hard spanking.”

Arousal flared, potent and irresistible. “You have no right. I’m not your sub.” When he pinched her nipples, flashes of heat threatened to melt away thought. “But there’s a whole club full of women willing to play your games.”

“I’ve already chosen mine.” She writhed when his grip tightened. In her moment of distraction, he slid his hand under her skirt. With her underwear gone, he could shove his fingers inside her without preamble.

“Joss….” It hurt. In the best way.

He looped his other arm around her. Caught in a vise, she had little recourse beyond a whimpered protest. “I don’t want this.” But she did. Enough to erase the safe word from her vocabulary.

“Dishonesty seems to be a chronic problem.” He pressed down on her clit with his thumb and screwed his digits deeper into her. Her clenching inner muscles supported his observation. So did her uncontrollable spasms as his unyielding penetration vaulted her toward a crest.

She dug her nails into his forearms, a useless defense that only reinforced her helplessness. “Stop it.”

He ignored her resistance, playing her like an instrument until sweat once more coated her skin. “Why? You’re more honest right after you come.”

Author Interview – Houston Havens

I’m delighted to welcome my Liquid Silver Books pub buddy Houston Havens to my blog today. She has a brand new release to brag about, and it’s a “paranormal fantasy with futuristic, sci-fi, post-apocalyptic elements with hints of erotic pleasures”—all words that make my little heart flutter. New release month is a crazy time, so I won’t keep her long.

1. Hi Houston.

Hi Tara!

Thanks so much for dropping by.

Thanks for the wonderful welcome.

I can’t help but notice that you have not one, not two, but THREE gorgeous shirtless men on your cover. You must tell me more about them posthaste!

Mmm, quite a ménage wouldn’t you say? *Winks*

When the tall, dark, and handsome brothers Drakker and Arlo rescue Fay from the wreckage of her craft, they are immediately attracted.

Arlo is lean and muscled with the striking looks of youth on his side and lives his life leading with his chin. He’s the youngest brother who tends to wear his heart on his sleeve, which is why he instantly falls in love and wants to keep Fay. He’s naive and sometimes judgmental, yet still has an endearing way about him. His one saving grace is he has romantic tendencies that force him to find the deeper meaning of things.

Drakker has brawn and beauty and is the leader of their army. He’s a law unto himself. A pillar of strength, he’s found unique ways to use his war talents for interrogation and domination in the bedroom, methods he’d like to bestow on Fay. Drakker’s a pragmatic and responsible man, he knows he can’t acquiesce to Arlo’s request and keep Fay, even though his erotic nature yearns to seduce her. They must take her to their eldest brother Logan Abán.

Opposite of his brothers, fair-haired Logan is sexy and reserved. He’s the leader of their people. He’s handsome, stoic, and strong willed to the core, but it draws Fay’s sexual curiosity like a heart to love. However, he carries self-blame and guilt for the deaths of his parents. He trusted his gut and it let him down. Now, he struggles to believe anything but facts. He can’t trust anyone, even himself. So when a beautiful spy walks into his life, he denies his desires for her. Fay challenges his need to trust. Fighting his own Sinful Surrender to Fay Avalon, Logan’s frustrated by his brothers’ determination to keep her despite the fact they know she’s a spy. Logan digs in his heels and refuses to trust them or his gut.

2. Decisions, decisions.... So who’s the lucky girl that gets to enjoy the pleasures of these three hunks?

My dark-haired beauty, Fay Avalon, with violet eyes.

I hear she’s a psychic and a spy!

Tenacious and unwavering, Fay Avalon is a psychic spy for her government. She’s on a personal mission uncover the truth and find proof when she’s captured by the alluring and seductive Abán brothers—her enemies. Logan tests her imposed puritan beliefs with the tantalizing enticements of a polyandrous society that calls to her secret fantasies. Drakker challenges her hidden erotic desires with forbidden temptations of bondage and domination, while Arlo tempts her longing romantic heart with poetry, music, roses, and unimaginable love.

3. What do you think is the appeal of ménage romances?

It’s something different. By nature, most of us are fascinated by the unknown, but we don’t want to experience it firsthand … we’d rather read and fantasize about being in a ménage even though most will never do it. So ménage stories allow the reader to do just that. To take a walk on the wild side without ever having to step a physical foot into that erotic world. It gives them a peek into a place they’d never dare to tread. A world they may fantasize about but never venture into in their real lives.

Did any book in this genre inspire you to write your own?

No. I’ve yet to read an erotic romance book. Unlike most who say an author should read books in her own genre, I’m not of that belief… I think it would be too easy to subconsciously write something I read and liked. I stopped reading romance the day I picked up my pen. When I have time to read, I relax with New Age books on remote viewing, out of body experiences, quantum theory, matters of the four dimensions, the paranormal, and other kinds of books. It’s my research. Books like that give me my next series.

4. Who of the three heroes (in your opinion) is the best kisser?

Without a doubt—Drakker. Every woman who meets him is in love with the man.

Would you mind sharing a snippet to show off Fay’s first kiss with Drakker?

When she opened her mouth to reply, Drakker tried to slip a bit of the serum into her mouth. What liquid made it in, she spit out.

“Why are you being difficult?”

Fay tossed him her nastiest, most challenging glare. “I like being difficult.”

He arched one of his sexy dark eyebrows. The sly smirk playing at his lips spoke volumes. “Well, I’m a man of endurance, ma chérie. I will keep at this until I get my serum in your mouth.”

The double entendre didn’t escape her. “I’m sure you will.”

“A woman who wants to be tamed, huh?”

He tried again to get the liquid in her mouth. This time she choked. The thought of rape was preferable to the idea of death by poison. Panic tightened her upper chest. She’d swallowed some of the potion and was already feeling funny from the little bit of liquid she didn’t manage to spit out. “How much of that will it take to kill me?”

He squinted at her as if he were insulted. “I’m not trying to kill you, Fay. This is a truth serum. I’m trying to get you to talk.” He smirked. “I like my women alive when I interrogate them. They make better conversationalists.”

She didn’t believe him. He’d poisoned her. No truth serum she’d been trained to resist had ever made her feel all tingly inside or her body feel hot. Everything in the room took on a sharp focus unlike the other serums that made everything fuzzy. He tried again to give her more of the potion. She could see in those deep blue eyes of his her resistance challenged rather than aggravated him.

“As a rule, I normally wouldn’t do this,” he said, while unbuttoning his shirt. “But since you’re being difficult…”

Her body tensed. Here it comes. Her pulse hit an exhilarated tempo as his white cotton shirt fell to the floor. All she could think about was pressing the soft-looking fabric to her nose and inhaling Drakker Abán’s scent. How bizarre. She should be worried about dying, not craving her killer’s scent. The poison’s playing with my mind. It has to be. She hoped the mind traveler realized this was just too odd for a woman facing torture. The drug was definitely affecting her. She tried to fight the urge to peek at his tanned muscled chest and failed.

“Fay?” His voice strummed her heart like a string instrument, sending erotic waves through her body, arousing her hormones. Drakker removed his boots and socks. She couldn’t rip her eyes from his beautiful feet. The sight of his perfect toes sent another ripple of desire rushing through her. She raised her vision to take in the mesmerizing dark brooding sight of him.

“Fay?”

Her gaze shot all the way up at his call. There was that ghostly smirk again. It was there, in his smoldering eyes. Her blood boiled over with desire.

“I said, normally I wouldn’t do this, but in your case I’m making an exception.”

“Don’t do me any favors.” To her surprise, Drakker took a bit of the red liquid into his mouth. So, he hadn’t lied about it being a truth serum. He moved in, his naked chest so close she could feel the heat of his body permeate hers. He pressed his sculptured lips to hers, and her body went limp with pleasure.

5. One last question: How did you get your start as a writer?

I’d have to say it was my life and in my blood. Telling stories are like breathing... I don’t remember my first breath … storytelling has always just been a part of me. I have a fascination with science, the future, history, myths, and of course—romantic love. Being an Irish lass, it’s only natural for me to see the world in stories. I then combine what I see and know with all the things I enjoy into an erotic tale to intrigue my readers.

Can you give us some insight into the modern-day publication process?

It appears to be pretty much the old process just pushed into the modern age like the rest of us. It is much quicker than in the past when readers had to wait twelve to twenty-four months for the next book from a favorite author. And of course with eReaders, people can carry around hundreds of books with them everywhere they go.

I’m going to let Houston run away now so she can write more sexy stories. For more information about the book and author, just scroll down. Comments are always much appreciated.

Thanks so much for having me here today. It’s been fun!

Sinful Surrender

Top psychic spy Fay Avalon saw too much on her latest mind traveling mission and is now on the run from her post-catastrophic dystopian government, searching for the truth and proof. She escapes but is shot down, landing in the arms of the enemy.

In Drakker and Arlo’s world, women are so rare the men have accepted a polyandrous lifestyle. When the brothers stumble upon Fay unconscious in the wreckage of an aircraft, they are immediately attracted to her. Arlo wants to keep her, but Drakker knows they can’t. They must take her to their brother Logan Abán, leader of their people.

Logan struggles with trusting anyone, even himself. When a beautiful, intelligent, and intriguing woman falls into their laps, his denied desires for intimacy challenge his need to trust the spy. He’s frustrated by romantic Arlo’s claims of her innocence. When pragmatic and dominating Drakker defends her as well, Logan refuses to trust his gut.

Can one woman satisfy the diverse desires of three men? Will Logan’s fears be realized by betrayal? Is Fay to be sentenced to death as a spy, suffer a fate worse than death by being returned to her government as a traitor, or will she find a new life and love as the wife of three sexy brothers?

Author Interview - Elizabeth Morgan

Truth-or-Dare300x450.jpg

There aren’t that many authors out there who have written romances based on Rapunzel. That particular Grimm’s fairy tale is just not as popular as Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. Therefore, imagine my surprise when I discovered fellow Decadent Publishing author Elizabeth Morgan and I had that in common. I was even curious enough to do a comparison post!

But that’s not why I have Elizabeth here today. She has a brand new book out, and I want all the details on Truth or Dare!

1. I was about to ask you something  about writing and publishing, but I seem to be fixated on shot glasses, lime, salt, and the bare-chested male on your cover. Would you mind elaborating on how all these elements go together?

I’d be happy to elaborate. Basically, Dani is having a house warming party – not by her choice – and once she has gotten rid of all her nosey neighbours, Cameron – the bare-chested male, whom she hates ;-P – decides that they – including his brother and Dani’s best friend - should all have a tequila fuelled game of Truth or Dare?

Refusing to look like a coward in front of Cameron, Dani agrees, but the games turns mighty sexy not to mention serious, fast.

2. Since we’re on the subject, care to give me a detailed description of Cameron? Let me specify—what exactly does he look like with his shirt off?

Cameron with his shirt off . . . *fans self* I think I will let Dani handle this question.

Cameron with his clothes on:

He walked round the sofa and into my line of view. As hard as I tried, I couldn’t stop from taking in his well-formed profile, broad shoulders, and a trim waist ending on the tightest arse I had ever seen on a man. He made jeans look good, real good.

He shot me his killer grin and my insides knotted. Why did he have to be good looking? It wasn’t easy hating someone who resembled sex, straight up and hard. He had sharp cheekbones and a stubble-coated jaw made for nibbling, all of which were complemented by his eyes—the warmest shade of brown. And his hair, jet black and falling to his ears, just the right length to tangle your hands in and hold onto. I could still remember how soft the strands felt running through my fingers….

Cameron with his shirt off:

He pulled his T-shirt over his head, and my mouth dried at the way his six-pack rippled with each movement. He was solid, perfect. His skin was a healthy bronze. A fine dusting of dark hair ran from his navel and crept down into his jeans. I couldn’t help but follow the teasing path with my gaze….

“See something you like?”

Did I ever. I hated to admit it, but he was the kind of guy you just wanted to lick—well, anything off of.

3. I’ll drop the pretense of this being a serious interview and roll with the current theme. How would you categorize the heat level of your book--sweet, spicy, steamy, or more?

I want to say naughty. Cameron is crude and blunt, but in that special type of way that would have your insides knotting and your knees weak. So, naughty and . . . hot. Yeah, this is definitely a hot little story.

4. I’m not so sure one sexy short will be enough for me. What projects are you working on that you are at liberty to drop hints about?

I am currently reading through – editing/tweaking & polishing – my paranormal erotic romance book She-Wolf, which is the Prequel to my Blood Series.

I got the rights back for this book in September last year, along with the rights to Book 1 in the series, Cranberry Blood, which I will be working on next. (Cranberry is more of an Urban Fantasy with Paranormal elements.)

This series is set in England and Scotland, and features scary vampires, a sarcastic slayer, and sexy Scottish werewolves. I do plan to start the untitled second book in the series this year, but my attention has been nabbed by a submission call from Decadent Publishing called, “Beyond Fairytales.” There was no way I could ignore it. So, I have my assigned fairytale and plan to start on it as soon as I have handed She-Wolf and Cranberry Blood to my editor.

5. Huh. I think we might be related–our writing preferences are pretty much identical. Anyhow, I'll end with the only writing-related question in this interview. How did your get your start as an author? Did you trunk any manuscripts along the way?

Although I have wrote on and off since childhood, it wasn’t until January 2009 that I decided to have a go at writing a book and with the intention of getting it published. I had about 60 rejections across the following year and a half, and then in February 2011 I received my first contract offer, and since then I have just kept writing, and submitting.

Oh yeah, I have trunked a lot of manuscripts. I actually have a lot of stories started, but have had to leave them to one side because I have hit a wall, or haven’t had time to continue with them. I have to say that is one of the frustrating things about being a writer; you have more ideas than you have time to write them, but I will get round to completing them one day.

Since Elizabeth is busy promoting her new release, I won’t keep her. Oh, did I mention she has a giveaway going on?

Truth or Dare?

Do you dare tell the truth?

A tequila fuelled game of Truth or Dare is not Dani’s idea of fun, but when Cameron, the jerk who rejected her a year ago is the one provoking her into playing, how can she say no? Not that he’s giving her the option in the first place.

Bravado compels her forward, but when the dares get physical and their friends leave them alone, Cameron’s questions turn to her feelings for him, and unfortunately, lying is not part of the game.

Will a dare give Dani the courage she needs to tell Cameron the truth?

Excerpt

“Fine, I will take a dare.” I glanced at Ben. “What do you want me to do?”

A wicked grin spread across his lips. It was almost as sexy as his brother’s. “I want you to lick salt off Cameron, and then take the lime from his mouth.”

He had to be fucking kidding. “What?”

“You heard the man.” The amusement ran clear in Cameron’s voice.

An idiotic bout of nerves skipped through me. “And do I dare ask where I will be drinking the tequila from?”

Ben’s gaze flicked to Cameron, who I couldn’t bring myself to look at. Holding up my hand, I cut Ben off before he suggested anything else.

“Never mind. I’ll do it.” Untangling my legs, I slid off the sofa, levelling a look at Cameron.

“Nope. I’m just wondering why removing your top is necessary. Scared I’m going to spill my drink on your T-shirt?”

His lips turned upward. “Man told you to lick salt off me, but he didn’t say where you would be licking the salt from.”

About Elizabeth Morgan

Elizabeth started life wanting to be an actress because she loved entertaining people. She enjoyed nothing more than being able to make people laugh and to help distract them from reality for a few hours.

She studied Musical Theatre in college, but during her second year, her mind started to overflow with story ideas, so she began writing plays. Slowly, over the following three years, she was writing more and more, channelling every ounce of her imagination into the written word.

Now here she is, years later, hiding away like a hermit in her little cottage in Cheshire, England, writing like crazy and loving every minute of it.
